Michael grew up in Cameron Park, California, but spent his summers traveling all over the US with his mother on the LPGA tour. He has a degree in electrical engineering from UC Davis and he received his Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in 1992. In 1998, Michael started his own law practice with the help of his wife, Darcy. Originally a Workers' Compensation defense attorney, Michael switched sides in 2015 and thoroughly enjoys helping injured workers and those applying for social security disability. A self described "unicorn", Michael is an out of the box thinker who goes above and beyond for his clients. In his free time, he enjoys reality TV, going on walks, the Sacramento Kings, barbecuing, and spending time with his family and friends.

A Sacramento native, Darcy got both her BS in Business and her Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. After a successful career in marketing, Darcy took some time off to raise her and Michael's daughter, Taylor. Shortly after, she helped Michael start his own law practice as his office manager. Known for her attention to detail, she uses her skills in planning, communication, and kindness to provide much needed support to Michael and his clients. In her free time, Darcy enjoys reality TV, going on walks, logic puzzles, Starbucks Chai Tea Lattes, and spending time with family and friends.

Originally from Auburn, California, Shelby has an Associate's Degree in Legal Assisting and a BA in Community Advocacy and Social Policy. Currently, she is a Juris Doctor candidate at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. In 2017, she joined the law office and she has been indispensable ever since. Known for her warm personality and can do attitude, Shelby handles many of the day to day operations of the office. She worked as a Legal Assistant for about 7 years and has been promoted to Paralegal withinin the past year. In her free time, she enjoys going to Sacramento Kings games, spending time at the river with her husband, gardening, and spending time with family and  friends. 

Originally from Oregon, the Skalas adopted Bianco in May of 2023 after the previous office dog, Francisco, passed away. Bianco has no formal education, but nevertheless he provides much needed emotional support to the team by being very cute and demanding attention. In his free time he enjoys barking, going on walks, and eating ice.

Sherman was adopted in May of 2020 after being rescued from a shelter. As part-time office dog, Shermy provides his services chasing the cats and squirrels, playing with Bi, and being very cute. In his free time, he enjoys giving kisses, playing with his toys, and barking at the mailperson.
